nostalgia

While reaching for a box that holds several of my smaller earrings, each pair in its own miniature bag, I inadvertently knocked it over, grabbing quickly as the contents flew in different directions. Somehow, I managed to catch most of them; back in their box, I discovered one was missing from the only pair that wasn’t in its own little package. I began to look around noticing, amongst other things in range, a medium sized bag constructed with soft blush pink hand made paper. The contents of this bag unknown until I looked inside to discover photographs, notes, postcards, cards, buttons, and other items that had hung on a bulletin board from my past. Lowering myself onto the floor, I extracted memory after memory, staying in the moment, content to be back when… 

…As I put past back in it’s bag, the present called for me to set aside a few things to paste into my journal to rediscover when I look through it in the future. Perhaps I will have found my missing earring by then, so…
